Flyer design help needed please

We would like to make a flyer (with colour) to advertise the club, MoNAC (Middle of Nowhere Anime Club), that is is held at Magic Dragon Games most every Saturday from 11pm to 1am, the website address (http://anime.meetup.com/29/) . I guess there has to be a trade off between putting too much info and boring someone and too little and not gaining their interest. The tear off flyer that the meetup site uses is ok, but very basic, i think we could do better, whilst keeping it straight forward. If we can do a desgin on a4, i can reduce this to make mini flyers (uses less ink and is cheaper). I know we have some really awesome artists in the club, and whilst i know they tend to be busy doing other things, if we could at least try this out. I'm going to try and put some ideas to paper myself. Oh, ideas are good too, like rough ideas. maybe you have what you think is a great idea, but maybe you do not (like me) have a lot of skill at this stuff, or a graphics tablet. I'd like to get the flyers ready for Fandemonium for their flyer table. Our club really is awesome, but sometimes its a shame more do not know about it. and its always fun to make new friends. I hope you can give this a wee bit of your time and thought, and we can discuss it a wee bit at the club or online. Oh, and a thought occurs to me, we could have more than one usable flyer design, so its not just one design......probably the design should have some sort of anime related drawing in it, but not necessarily, its an open idea.
